The Department is situated 170 km far from Bratislava, 120 km from Budapest (HUN), 30 km from Banská Bystrica and The Sliač Airport. It is the nearest full-equipped Ski centre to Bratislava and Budapest, situated to middle Stiavnica's Hills. This unique Ski centre is releted to nearby historical, medieval city rich in cultural remains.

The Department is well placed and easy accessable for tourists comming from west and south Slovakia and from Hungary.

Ski centre is equipped by modern 4-chair ropeway covered with transparent boubble, about the lenght 1400 m. The tracks are covered with artificial snow and are shaped. Apart from tracks for downhill skiing, it is about 40 km long track for cross-country skiing available.

Next to ski, is is a possibility to relax in the thermal spring at the thermal aquapark and wellness centre in Vyhne, or at thermal spa in Sklené Teplice with unique hot cave – so called PARENICA.

You will be temptated to visit lots of restaurants, caffees, bars, pubs and make a walk in the beautiful streets to feel the romantic of historical Banská Štiavnica, after the extraordinary skiing in Ski centre Salamandra.
